We are thrilled to hear that you have selected Carlyle School as your child(ren)’s elementary school. We look forward to having you join our family.

How do I register?

If you are interested in registering your child(ren) for the 2024-2025 school year, the dates to register are as follows:

Sibling Registration Public Registration
January 22nd to January 29th, 2024
(by appointment only)
February 5th to February 9th, 2024

Our regular Elementary School Registration week is between February 5 to February 9, 2024.

If you already have a child registered in our school, please make an appointment during the sibling registration dates indicated above.

To register for Kindergarten, We ask that you book an appointment using our online reservation system through the following link.

Online Kindergarten spot reservation links will be available on January 29, 2024, at 7 a.m.

Once you have registered online for your child, we will be contacting you for an in-person appointment at Carlyle School to complete the registration.

Parents who are interested in registering their child(ren) at Carlyle School should contact us for information about eligibility and programs. Carlyle School also registers new students throughout the school year, however, acceptance depends on classroom availability and area of residence.

If you have a Certificate of Eligibility

Please consult the documents below to learn more about the registration process. 

Please bring the following documents with you to the school: 

  • The Certificate of Eligibility or permanent code of the child, parent, or sibling whose eligibility is being used.
  • Proof of Canadian citizenship of the child, parent, or sibling whose eligibility is being used.
  • The child's long-form birth certificate, showing both parents' names.
  • Proof of residence (lease, driver's license, utility bill, etc.) 
  • A copy of the “Carnet de Santé” (all pages).

    If you do not have a Certificate of Eligibility

    In order to qualify for English Instruction in Quebec Public Schools, students must meet certain eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language as set out by the Quebec government.

    What is a Certificate of Eligibility?

    To obtain a Certificate of Eligibility, parents must complete an application at the Community Services (Law 101) office located at the English Montreal School Board head office.

    INTERNATIONAL FAMILIES

    Carlyle welcomes students and their families to Canada from all over the world. Families living Quebec on a temporary basis (work or school visa) can be eligible to send their children to an English public school.

    Carlyle School Territory

    Each elementary school within the EMSB serves the community within it's boundaries. Children living within these boundaries and their siblings have priority over children living outside of the school boundaries when registering at the school. Students living outside of the school boundaries are not eligible for bussing.
