About MIND High School

MIND is a school where everyone can feel appreciated, and where students, staff and parents feel part of a community. At MIND High School, each individual is valued for his or her unique contribution and is respected for his or her individuality.
What is MIND?

MIND (Moving in New Directions) alternative high school is a co-managed, democratic school for independent and motivated students.

At MIND, we strive to create a strong sense of the school as a community and instill in each student a sense of responsibility and belonging to that community.

It is our belief that students who enjoy school will do better in school, and thus, we are committed to creating an environment where students feel welcome, important and comfortable.

We believe in an individualized approach to learning. We promote bilingualism. The key educational values we support at MIND are: community, academics, individual development, co-management and school involvement.

How big is MIND?

MIND caters to a limited number of students in grades 9 to 11. Teens interested in attending MIND must schedule an interview first; this may be done by contacting our secretary in our Contact Us section.

What is the environment like at MIND?

MIND encourages students to think critically, and participate in the life of the school. MIND provides a safe and enjoyable environment for students who want to excel both academically and personally.
